visual arts education
Arts For The Schools Visual Arts program provides a 14-week course for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, and a 32-week course for at risk 7-12th grades. Students receive interdisciplinary standards-based, sequential instruction in visual arts including ceramics, print making, drawing and painting. The program meets the State of California visual arts content standards and integrates other subjects including science, math, social studies and socio-emotional development (see arts integration page for more information). The program helps alternative high school students receive a diploma by fulfilling the state standard art requirement for graduation.
