visual arts education
Arts For The Schools Visual Arts program provides a 14-32-week course for 3-12 grades. Students receive interdisciplinary standards-based, sequential curriculum in visual arts including ceramics, print making, drawing and painting. The program curriculum is taught once per week in the classroom and meets the State of California visual arts content standards as well as integrates science, math, social studies and socio-emotional development curriculum (see arts integration page for more information). The course is taught by professional teaching artists and credential teachers. The visual arts program also allows alternative high school students to fulfill the state standard art requirement for graduation.
