Arts For The Schools has hired Nation Beat, New Orleans-flavored brass, propelled by the sounds of Brazil drumming to play in Truckee on April 5. Enjoy a night of Nation Beat’s musical mojo with the thundering of maracatu drumming and don’t forget your dancing shoes! Borrowing, mixing and adapting musical traditions is at the heart of Nation Beat’s sound.  Nation Beat singularly conjures up the feeling of Carnival, drawing on the source of rhythm that lit up jazz.

Arts For The Schools onSTAGE Live program for the public books and hires artists from all over the world to promote cultural understanding, learning and discourse in our community!  Join us for an evening of Brazilian Carnival and share in the joy!

“We are very grateful to Truckee Core Values Fund, the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce, and the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation for a donation to help us put on this show for Truckee. The Truckee Cores Values Fund supports arts and cultural events in Truckee, as well as other wonderful community events”, says Eve McEneaney, Arts For The Schools ED.
