visual arts education
Arts For The Schools Visual Arts program teaches an interdisciplinary standards-based, sequential integrated curriculum in visual arts for TK/K-12 grades in schools and to students at home. The program curriculum is taught once per week in the classroom and meets the State of California and State of Nevada visual arts content standards as well as integrates science, math, social studies and socio-emotional development curriculum (see arts integration page for more information). The course is taught by professional artists and credential art teachers. The visual arts program also allows alternative high school students to fulfill the state standard art requirement for graduation.
Students in the Visual Arts Program receive:
comprehensive 14-week course students learn techniques in:
Drawing, Watercolor Painting, Oil Pastels, Chalk pastels, Ceramics, Problem solving & Spatial Design
Arts Integrated lessons include
ELA, Writing, Math and Science as well as keep skills in:
Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, & Presenting
