Frequently Asked Questions
Is Arts For the Schools a project of the local school district?
No. Arts For the Schools is an independent non-profit organization. Due to funding cutbacks for art education, Arts For the Schools formed with the purpose of raising funds to pay professional artists and bring art back into the classroom and present a cultural and artistic experience for the broader community.
Does AFtS serve the student/child population only?
No. Arts For the Schools reaches an adult audience through its Public Performance Series: onSTAGE. Performing artists are selected for their ability to reach a broad audience. The School Series targets students in grades K-12 in a lecture demonstration format and the Public Series presents a professional performance which targets a general audience.
Does AFtS provide scholarships, grants or special project funds to outside groups or individuals?
No. Arts For the Schools has not adopted a giving policy. However, if special art-related projects arise that supports the organization's mission, and has a broader impact on the community, AFtS will consider ways to offer support.
